We are fortunate to have a layout where very little of the space is devoted to hallways. In fact, on the main floor its limited to a short L-shaped run off the kitchen to access a myriad of doorways:
the basement, spare room, bathroom, and office. There is also a linen closet tucked in there too. So for a small space it is pretty busy!
This was one of the most intriguing areas we uncovered while renovating however, complete with patched-in floor boards to cover what appears to be the old cellar access and re-purposed beer cans to patch some small holes!
